About PGConf.Asia 2026
PGConf.Asia is the regional PostgreSQL community conference for Asia. It started in Japan in 2016 and has since been hosted in Japan, Indonesia and mainland China; the 2026 edition brings it to Hong Kong for two days, 17 and 18 November, at InnoCentre in Kowloon Tong, a technology hub run by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. It is aimed at the engineers who run Postgres in production as much as at the people who work on its code. The programme is organised around four themes: database engineering (internals, extensions, performance, replication, logical decoding), operations (architecture for scale, monitoring, migrations, backup and disaster recovery), data platforms and AI (cloud-native deployments, analytics, vector search), and community. Talks are in English, and the website is published in English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese. With one main hall and a breakout room it is a small event, which makes it easy to find speakers in the hallway. Registration runs through Luma: early-bird sales at HKD 120 have ended, standard tickets are on sale, hands-on workshops cost extra as an add-on, and verified students and active PostgreSQL contributors can apply for free tickets. The call for papers closed at the end of August, and a preliminary schedule went up on 1 October 2026.
