About SRE Kaigi 2027
SRE Kaigi is a one-day, volunteer-run site reliability engineering conference held on a Saturday in Tokyo. The third edition takes place on 20 February 2027 at Nakano Central Park Conference, the venue of both earlier editions, under the theme "Evolve SRE!", which asks how the SRE role is changing with AI agents and new positions such as forward-deployed engineers. The call for proposals invites 30-minute talks, questions included, across technology, practices, architecture, culture, future trends and case studies, from incident management and postmortems to observability, automation and SRE in startups. It is a compact event: the plan is three tracks, a hall seating about 160 and two rooms of about 70, with Ask the Speaker sessions after talks. Talks are mostly in Japanese; other languages are accepted but there is no simultaneous interpretation. Only hall sessions are streamed online, and recordings go up on the SRE Kaigi YouTube channel afterwards. Tickets are due to go on sale in mid-November 2026; for the 2026 edition an on-site ticket cost JPY 1,000, or JPY 5,000 with the evening party, and online viewing was free. The call for proposals runs on fortee until 15 October 2026.
