About Conf42 Chaos Engineering 2026

Conf42 Chaos Engineering 2026 is a free online conference on Thursday 3 December 2026, one of the oldest themes in the Conf42 series, with pages going back to 2020. Earlier editions ran in February; from this year the event moves to December. Like all Conf42 events it is a single day of pre-recorded talks that stream on YouTube at a set time and then stay on demand, which suits people who want to dip into resilience topics without blocking out a conference week. The 2025 edition had 24 talks grouped around chaos engineering practice, resilience and fault tolerance, reliability and SRE, cloud and infrastructure failure modes, architecture and microservices, performance and cost at scale, culture, security and the resilience of AI and data systems. Past presenters came from AWS, Microsoft, Walmart, Harness, Steadybit, Nutanix and Couchbase. No 2026 talks had been announced when we checked, and the call for papers on cfp.ninja is open until 18 November 2026, which makes it one of the easier calls to target this late in the year. Talks are in English and speakers record from home. Useful for SREs and platform teams who are starting a game-day or fault-injection programme and want real experience reports.
