About Observability Day North America 2026
Observability Day North America gathers the CNCF observability community on Monday 9 November 2026 at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City, as part of the co-located day before KubeCon + CloudNativeCon. It runs in two rooms, so in practice there are two parallel tracks. The scope covers the whole CNCF observability family, including Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Fluentd and Fluent Bit, Jaeger, Thanos, Cortex, Perses, Pixie and Kepler, and is pitched at maintainers, operators and end users alike. Listed themes include project internals, architectures that combine several projects, telemetry data engineering and the trade-off between cost and usefulness, observability for AI agents, eBPF-based instrumentation, and telemetry for CI/CD pipelines and platforms. The organisers say they prefer talks grounded in real production experience, and the 2026 schedule leans on OpenTelemetry, SLOs and telemetry cost. Entry comes with the KubeCon All-Access pass; there is no separate ticket and seats are first come, first served. The co-located call for proposals closed on 21 June. A North American edition has run at KubeCon every year since Chicago in 2023. Do not confuse it with the Observability Summit, a separate event held alongside Open Source Summit in the spring.
