About All Things Open 2027

All Things Open is a large open source technology conference in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, and its 15th edition is set for Sunday 17 to Tuesday 19 October 2027; the 2027 venue and prices had not been published when we checked, though recent editions used the Raleigh Convention Center. It is a general open source event rather than a DevOps conference, but it runs dedicated DevOps, cloud and security tracks on its main day, alongside Linux and infrastructure, databases, several AI and machine learning tracks, developer relations, community and business. The day before the main conference offers paid deep-dive sessions and full-day workshops; in 2026 these included an AI for DevSecOps workshop led by John Willis and a session on running AI agents in production, plus free co-located summits on community leadership and accessibility. The audience mixes developers, operators, DevOps engineers, maintainers and community leaders, and the organisers talk of thousands of attendees and more than 100 speakers on the main day. It has historically been cheap for its size: in 2026 the main conference day was $199 and a workshop plus conference day $399, with scholarships available. A good-value option in the Southeast for teams that want DevOps sessions alongside the wider open source world, a few weeks ahead of KubeCon North America.
