About GitHub Universe 2027
GitHub Universe 2027 is expected in San Francisco in late October 2027, but GitHub had not announced it when we checked, so the dates shown are the 2026 edition moved forward 52 weeks to the same weekdays, and are unconfirmed. The 2024, 2025 and 2026 editions all ran over two days in late October at Fort Mason Center in the Marina District. Universe is GitHub's flagship developer conference, with product keynotes (Copilot and coding agents have dominated recent years), breakouts, panels, hands-on workshops, Ship and Tell sessions where teams demo what they built, and plenty of time with GitHub staff. For DevOps readers the useful threads are Actions and CI/CD, supply chain and code security, platform and developer-experience teams' adoption stories, and open source maintainer sessions. GitHub usually runs a public call for sessions in the spring; the 2026 call closed on 1 May. It is a hybrid event: in 2026 the in-person pass was $1,399 with a team rate for four or more, workshops were a $99 add-on, and a free virtual pass carried the livestreamed keynote and recordings. A separate Day of Learning at GitHub's headquarters included a certification exam voucher. Watch githubuniverse.com for the 2027 announcement.
