About Conf42 FinOps 2027
Conf42 FinOps 2027 is a new addition to the Conf42 online series: a free, one-day virtual conference on Thursday 4 February 2027 devoted to cloud cost management and cost-aware engineering. It is the first FinOps edition, so there is no back catalogue to judge it by, but it follows the standard Conf42 format: talks are pre-recorded, stream on YouTube at a set time on the day and stay available on demand, and attendance needs nothing more than an optional free sign-up. Expect material on cost visibility and allocation, rightsizing and autoscaling, commitment planning, unit economics, and the growing question of what AI and GPU workloads really cost, pitched at engineers rather than finance teams. No talks had been announced when we checked, and the call for papers on cfp.ninja is open until 7 January 2027, which makes it a good target for practitioners who have a cost-reduction story to tell and want a recorded talk without travelling. It sits two weeks after Conf42 DevOps and a month before Conf42 SRE, so it is easy to follow the whole early-2027 run. Worth a look for platform engineers and engineering managers who have been handed the cloud bill.
