About ALASCA Summit 2026
The ALASCA Summit is a free two-day community conference about running open source cloud infrastructure in Europe, organized by ALASCA, a German non-profit association of cloud operators, integrators and developers working on projects such as Sovereign Cloud Stack, Yaook and OSISM. The third edition runs on 3 and 4 November 2026 at the Mighty Twice Hotel in Dresden, with an informal get-together the evening before. It suits people who build or operate private and regional clouds: OpenStack and Kubernetes operators, network engineers, and platform teams weighing alternatives to the large public clouds. The 2026 schedule mixes short sponsor keynotes and a panel on community and digital sovereignty with practical material: lightning talks on migrating from VMware to OpenStack, software delivery to intermittently connected Kubernetes clusters, and multi-cloud switching, plus hands-on workshops on building Sovereign Cloud Stack compatible environments, Yaook operator code, edge clouds with OSISM, SBOMs and self-hosted CI with Woodpecker. The event includes an OpenInfra track and is held in English. Registration is free but capacity is limited, and the association offers travel grants covering travel and hotel for up to five students. The call for participation closed at the end of July 2026.
