About OpenTofu Day North America 2026

OpenTofu Day North America is the infrastructure-as-code gathering on KubeCon's co-located day, held on the afternoon of Monday 9 November 2026 at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. OpenTofu is the open source fork of Terraform maintained under the Linux Foundation, and the event brings together its maintainers and users for migration stories, technical deep dives, panels and new use cases. In 2026 it runs as an afternoon programme, opening at 13:20 in the same ballroom that hosts FluxCon in the morning, and the schedule includes a session on rewriting the OpenTofu engine. That makes it a compact, focused half day for teams who manage cloud infrastructure with HCL and want to hear how others moved off Terraform, structure modules and state, or combine IaC with Kubernetes-based tooling. Entry is included in the KubeCon All-Access pass with no separate ticket. The co-located call for proposals closed on 21 June. OpenTofu Day has been part of KubeCon in both North America and Europe since 2024 and is listed again for Barcelona in 2027. It is the only CNCF co-located event devoted to infrastructure as code at this KubeCon, so it is the place to find that community during the week.
