About FOSDEM 2027

FOSDEM is the volunteer-run free and open source developers' meeting held every winter at the Université libre de Bruxelles, and the 27th edition takes place on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 January 2027 at the ULB Solbosch campus. It is not a DevOps conference as such, but it is where many infrastructure projects meet their users, and the organizers put attendance at more than 8,000. Most of the programme lives in dozens of parallel developer rooms run by project communities, alongside main-track talks and stands. In 2026 the rooms most relevant to DevOps and platform engineers were Containers, Virtualization and Cloud Infrastructure, Testing and Continuous Delivery, Nix and NixOS, eBPF, SBOMs and supply chains, Security, Databases, Software Defined Storage, and Identity and Access Management; 2025 also had a Monitoring and Observability room. The 2027 devroom list is due to be announced on 20 October 2026, after which each room opens its own call for talks; the main-track call runs from 5 October to 16 November 2026. Talks are in English and must concern free and open source software. Attendance is free, popular rooms fill quickly, and talks are recorded and published on video.fosdem.org, room by room. Config Management Camp follows in Ghent from 1 to 3 February.
