About SREcon27 Americas
SREcon Americas is the reliability engineering conference run by USENIX, the non-profit computing systems association, and for many SREs it is the most important event of the year. SREcon27 Americas runs from 12 to 14 April 2027 at the Sheraton Grand Seattle downtown, Seattle's second year as host after 2026. The audience is site reliability, production and systems engineers working on large distributed systems, from global-scale companies to small teams, and the programme aims to serve newcomers and veterans alike. The 2027 programme co-chairs come from DraftKings and The VOID, and their call frames the theme around the wider business environment SREs work in, including how generative AI is changing the job, alongside a systems strand on performance, databases, observability and OpenTelemetry, networking and security. Talks are 15 or 35 minutes plus questions, with a lightning-talk call opening in January. Proposals are due on 19 November 2026, speakers must submit their own proposals and confirm the content is primarily their own writing, and first-time presenters can ask for support. Recent editions added a discussion track and Ask Me Anything sessions. USENIX publishes session videos openly a few weeks later. For reference, 2026 registration ran from $950 early bird to $1,300.
