About Open Source Summit North America 2027

Open Source Summit North America is the Linux Foundation's umbrella conference for the whole open source stack, and the 2027 edition is set for Vancouver, British Columbia, from 17 to 19 May 2027. The official page is still a save-the-date, so the venue, prices, tracks and call for proposals have not been published. The 2026 edition in Minneapolis gives a good idea of what to expect: a dozen tracks running from the Linux kernel and embedded systems up to cloud and orchestration, containers and images, open source AI and data, OSPO practice and safety-critical software. For DevOps readers the most relevant parts are the cloud and containers tracks, the cdCon track, where the CD Foundation's continuous delivery community now meets, and the paid add-on events held alongside it, which in 2026 included OpenSSF Community Day on supply chain security, the two-day Observability Summit for the OpenTelemetry and Prometheus communities, and the Linux Security Summit. The 2026 call for proposals closed in mid-February, about three months ahead of the event, so expect a winter deadline. Sessions are usually recorded and posted on the Linux Foundation YouTube channel. A broad event: choose it for breadth and the add-on days rather than deep Kubernetes content.
