About Config Management Camp Ghent 2027
Config Management Camp, usually shortened to CfgMgmtCamp, is a free, volunteer-run conference on open source infrastructure automation, held in Ghent on the Monday to Wednesday right after FOSDEM in Brussels. The 2027 edition runs from 1 to 3 February at the HoGent Schoonmeersen campus, a short walk from Gent-Sint-Pieters station. It draws sysadmins, SREs, platform engineers and the maintainers of tools such as Ansible, Puppet, OpenTofu, mgmt, Nix and Kubernetes-based platforms. The first two days mix a main track with keynotes, 45- and 25-minute talks and five-minute Ignite talks with parallel community rooms, and a new 'State Of' slot in 2027 lets each project summarize its year in the main-track morning. The third day is given over to workshops and fringe events; announced so far are the Vox Pupuli community day, an Ansible Contributor Summit, an mgmt workshop, a zero-to-immutable Kubernetes workshop, an HPC sysadmin meetup and a Belgian Proxmox community day. Talks must be about genuinely open source software, and products that are purely proprietary are not accepted. The call for presentations has been extended in a second wave and closes on 20 October 2026, with help offered to new speakers. Registration is free but required, and lunch is bought at the campus cafeteria.
