About SRE NEXT 2027
SRE NEXT is Japan's dedicated site reliability engineering conference, run by volunteers from the SRE Lounge meetup community for engineers who care about reliability practice: SLIs and SLOs, incident response, observability, toil reduction and the organisational side of running an SRE team. The 2027 edition is set for Friday 9 and Saturday 10 July at TOC Ariake Convention Hall in Tokyo, the venue used in 2025 and 2026, and the organizers plan to live-stream the sessions. The programme mixes invited speakers with talks picked through an open call for proposals; in 2026 it ran three tracks with keynotes, regular sessions, lightning talks and lunch sessions, plus an evening party, and earlier editions added facilitated group discussions on topics such as SLIs and SLOs. Talks are in Japanese and no interpretation is advertised, so the event mainly serves engineers working in Japan. As of mid-October 2026 the official site lists ticket sales, the call for proposals, sponsorship and staff recruitment as not yet open; the organizers say each will be announced on the site's news page and the @srenext account on X.
