About Platform Engineering Kaigi 2027
The 2027 edition has not been announced yet; these dates are expected, based on the late-September Saturday slot used in 2026, and the series has moved between July and September since it began. Platform Engineering Kaigi is a one-day Tokyo conference about building internal developer platforms, organised by the Cloud Native Innovators Association. It targets platform engineers, SREs, infrastructure engineers, application developers and the CTOs who fund platform teams. The 2026 edition, held at Nakano Central Park Conference under the theme "AI Native Platform Engineering", ran a hall and two rooms of 30-minute talks selected through an open call, sponsor sessions, and a hands-on experiment in which on-site attendees used AI coding agents to deploy apps onto a shared platform. Most talks are in Japanese. The keynote in 2025 and 2026 was given in English by an overseas speaker, with human simultaneous interpretation in 2025 and an AI interpretation service showing Japanese subtitles in 2026. The event is hybrid, with a free online stream and low-cost on-site tickets, and session videos are posted on the Platform Engineering Meetup YouTube channel. No 2027 call for proposals has been published; the 2024 call ran from late March to late April.
