About Open Source Summit Korea 2027
Open Source Summit Korea is the Linux Foundation's Seoul conference for open source developers, maintainers and the engineers who run open source software in production. The 2027 edition is set for 14 and 15 October; so far the organizers have published only a save-the-date page, with no venue, prices or call for proposals. The series is young: it started in November 2025 and returned in August 2026 at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam. It is broader than a DevOps event. The 2026 programme ran Cloud & Orchestration and Packages, Images & Containers tracks next to Linux, embedded, Zephyr, safety-critical software, open AI and data, and open source program management, so platform and infrastructure engineers should expect to pick from one or two relevant rooms rather than a full day of operations content. Session formats in 2026 were 30-40 minute talks and panels, birds-of-a-feather meetings, hands-on tutorials and lightning talks. The programme mixes English and Korean: the 2026 schedule tagged some talks as Korean or Korean with English slides, and no interpretation service was advertised. The 2026 call for proposals closed in late April, about fifteen weeks before the event. Recordings from 2026 are on the Linux Foundation YouTube channel.
